I WANT TO GO!

The former 40 Strand on Fire Hot Sauce Contest is NOW the Strand on Fire Hot Sauce Contest.  With the closing of 40 Strand we moved the contest up the street to the Caravelle Arcade.

Well it's a Hot Sauce Contest.  As an attendee you'll be able to sample hot sauces from all of the entries into the contest. Many will have some of their hot sauces available for sale.
We'll have live entertainment with Mercy Child and a cash bar.

The Caravelle Arcade in downtown Christiansted

Saturday March 11, 2023 from 11am till 3pm

Each entry will be judged by a panel of at least 5 judges and will be scored from 1-10 on these 5 categories:

• APPEARANCE
• AROMA
• FLAVOR
• TEXTURE
• USE OF HEAT

The highest average score (total points scored divided by the number of judges) will be the winner and will receive a $500 cash award.

Second place will will $200 and Third place will will $100

There will also be a People’s Choice Award. Each paid entrant will receive a ballot form. They can choose their favorite hot sauce and return the ballot to the entry desk. Whoever gets the most votes wins.

Entry fee is a donation of $5.  100% of the entry fees for both the people entering the Hot Sauce and those attending will go to Project Promise VI, a non-profit organization whose goal is to identify those youth who are experiencing adolescent hardships and may have a rough transition into adulthood.  Expenses for the production of the 40 Strand on Fire Hot Sauce Contest are being covered by the sponsors (who we really really thank).  Your entry fee, whether as an attendee or and entrant, will go to Project Promise VI.  (We promise).

Because we love hot sauce and feel combining that with having some fun and raising some money for a great cause is a great way to spend a Saturday.  We hope you'll join us.
